Vegetarian Diet

What it is

I know this explanation is up for debate by some, but for me, a vegetarian diet is a plant-based diet that excluded the consumptions of animal proteins. I did however still eat cheese, sour cream and butter. I did not eat eggs or drink milk. Some may call this a lacto vegetarian. I loved this diet as it gave me incredibly energy, sped up my metabolism and perfected my digestion.

After all the damage I had done to my body, I was in need of some repair. This diet came easy for me the 1st time around and was not difficult to make the transition into. I have been on and off this diet many times.

Here is an example of what I would eat for any given day:

What I ate

Breakfast (8:00am): Cereal with almond milk

Snack (10:00am): Banana

Lunch (12:00pm) : Veggie sandwich with avocado

Snack (3:00pm): Fruit, crackers or chips.

Dinner (6:00pm): Pasta with veggies and cheese.

My Workout

I did not workout during this diet.

My Results

I became pregnant during this diet and did not track calories.

My Review

This diet was hard to stick to during my 1st pregnancy (which was a second or 3rd attempt at becoming vegetarian) because my cravings for foods varied day-to-day. In the beginning I found it very easy to sustain from eating any type of animal protein but found myself craving red meat on a few occasions. I also did not want to restrict all animal protein while pregnant because at the time I felt if my body was craving it, I should eat it.
